In 2024, the DORC club committee provided you with 31 social rides (at least) – 6 of which were night rides; and 7 events with a mixture of locations, varying time lengths and trails used (in some cases, created just for the event). We are grateful to all our sponsors for helping us to make the events a greater success. The funds raised at events from BBQ donations, will be donated to worthy causes – PAWS Darwin $378; R U OK $160; and Camp Quality $132.
A big part of the the club’s remit is ensuring that the trails are suitable for all users and to this end we have spent countless hours both logged and unlogged, planned and unplanned, in trying to keep trails usable for all bike riders. Thanks to all those known and unknown, who get out there in our lovely Darwin weather to tidy, maintain and when necessary, do the emergency work.
In 2025 we plan to do more of the same, starting with our AGM. This could be a chance for those who haven’t tried working on a committee, to volunteer their services and help the club in the coming year. We are also hoping to send out a survey in the early New Year to gauge what our members might be interested in doing throughout 2025 and what you might not. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you out on the trails.
