International Women’s Day Ride. Sun 8th March ’20

27/02/2020 by Ian

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Darwin Off-Road Cyclists will be hosting a women’s ride.

All women riders of ALL LEVELS are welcome. This will be an easy paced, social ride and the more the merrier. Bring your friends!

The ride will be lead by Jo Fox and Emma Host, two experienced riders, well-known to Darwin’s cycling fraternity.

Location Howard Springs, Old Pine Forest
Meeting point  Old Pine Forest meeting point, Howard Springs Road
Date Sunday 8th March ’20
Time 8am Start

This will be a very easy ride with plenty of breaks along the way to regroup.

Following the ride, we will be heading around the corner to Jenny’s Orchid Garden for tea/coffee, scones and a chat afterwards.

If you would like to join us for post ride morning tea please RSVP numbers to Jo (0439 889 442) so that we can give Jenny a heads up. (or leave a comment below).

You will need a mtb in good working order, a helmet, enclosed footwear, gloves and plenty of water. Riders please be self-sufficient with water, spare tube, pump and tyre levers, etc.

You do not need to be a DORC/MTBA member to participate in these rides. However, for insurance purposes, you will need proof of membership with DORC/MTBA or be prepared to sign a waiver.

It is the responsibility of the rider to ensure that they have a current MTBA Licence, take advantage of the MTBA 2 month free trial by the link below, this is to make sure we follow the MTBA club and insurance requirements.

All we ask is for new riders to sign up for a free 2 month free trial MTBA membership. It only takes 30 seconds to sign up.

If you do not take advantage of any of the options above you must understand that you are not covered by the MTBA Insurance policy for public liability or personal accident cover. You engage in this activity at your own risk and you are responsible for any expenses should you be held liable for a negligent act or should you suffer personal injury or property damage.

If you are not a DORC/MTBA member you will be required to sign a waiver before starting the ride.

Please see the ride leader before the start of the ride.

Feel free to message us for more info.
Enjoy the Ride!

Male partners are welcome to join the casual (non-DORC) pine forest patrol on the Sunday morning. This does start a little earlier at 7.30am from Stow Road, just across the road from the Old Pine Forest.

Scrap this. I have no front break so my bike is not rideable. Lesson to self don’t leave it until the night before to get your bike ready if you haven’t ridden it in a while!
      Have a great ride!

    Thanks
