Women’s Introduction to Mountain Biking
Do you have a mountain bike or can you borrow one from a friend for the morning?
Do you want to give this crazy sport called mountain biking a go but don’t know where to start? Do you need some basic knowledge, skills and confidence to get you pedalling?
Come and join us for our DORC Women’s Only Introduction to Mountain Biking (MTB) Course. There are 8 spots available. This course is free for all women who are members of DORC and AusCycling and 16 years +. It’s worth paying your membership for insurance and all the cool events, skills courses and social rides you can take part in over the next year. Date: Sunday 27th March 2022
Time: 8.00 am – 12.00 pm (may finish earlier depending on weather)
Location : Old Pine Forest, Howard Springs
You will need a mtb in working order, an Australian standards helmet, covered shoes, gloves and water.
This course will provide you with the basics and covers such topics as:
Bike type and set up
Basic bike maintenance on the trail and what you should carry on the trails
Balance and Body Position on the bike (this will save you much heartache and improve your confidence immensely)
Terrain Awareness (trail scanning, line choice etc)
Basic Cornering and Braking
We can also discuss anything else mtb related that you are interested in finding out about and answer any questions you might have regarding mtbing in our amazing local area. It will be a fun and informative few hours.
