“Into The Twilight Zone”
supported by
“Into the Twilight Zone” is a three hour day/night event that will be held in the Howard Springs Pine Forest on Saturday 22nd June 2024.
The course is a mix of easy, flowing single track and bursts of fire trails through the New Pine Forest and the riding will be fun! If you haven’t done a DORC event before, this is a great place to start. You can ride for 1, 2 or 3 hours. Ride as many or as few laps as you wish or grab some mates and form a team to share the load.
Riders will need to have good lights (min 1000 lumens) fitted to the front of their bikes/helmets by 6pm. A non-flashing red light will also be required for the rear of the bike. It’s a good time to check your lights and batteries if you haven’t used them in a while. If you don’t have lights then head down to our sponsors for this year’s event Cycle Zone Darwin and see what they have to offer.

Regulations and Rules
Riders should carry puncture repair kits, water, mobile phone (with first aid numbers) and food with them whilst riding. Helmet must be worn at all times whilst riding. It is also advisable to have gloves and eye protection as well.
Front white light is required to be carried after 6pm. It must be of an intensity that enables the rider to safely ride at night. Many riders choose to use white lights both on their helmet and on their handlebars for increased safety. A rear red light is to be carried, preferable non-flashing.
Any time a competitor comes across a fellow rider needing assistance, you should render any assistance that is required.
Cut Off
Riders will not be permitted to be out on the course after 6pm without front and rear lights. The cut-off for a last lap will be 6.50pm. The ride is a 3-hr, but you can finish prior to the three-hour mark. If you decide to finish early, please let the timing people know that you have finished, and return your race plate.

Volunteers
We all know that many hands make light work and we would love some people, who aren’t racing, to jump in and give us a hand. Some of the jobs include setting up (from 2:30pm), registration, timing, cooking the bbq and packing up. Please email darwinoffroadcyclists@gmail.com if you would like to help.
A BBQ will be held throughout the race. A gold coin donation will get you something to eat and drink with the proceeds going to a charity, named on the day.
