Geoff Fox’s FunDmentals Skills Courses

Hi Guys and Girls of DORC. Geoff Fox will be running another 6 week skills course. Class will be capped at 8 participants. For those who have done the previous courses we are hoping to offer it to new participants this time around.

 MTB Fun ‘D’ Mentals

Six WeekTraining Programme

Week 1. 7 Aug,  Basic Maintenance, Bike set up, Moving around on your bike, Easy ride through                        the old pine forrest.

Week 2. 14 Aug, Revise week 1, Pedalling, shifting, braking and cornering, easy ride                                             through old pine forrest.

Week 3. 21 Aug, Revise week 2, Wheelies, Hopping and negotiating obstacles, easy ride through                          the new pine forrest.

Week 4. 28 Aug, Revise week 3. Pumping, Climbing and switchbacks. Easy ride Charles Darwin.

Week 5. 4 Sep, Revise week 4. Drops, Jumps, Stairs and urban obstacles. Urban ride Darwin City.

Week6. 11 Sep, Culmination of all skills incorporated in a ride at the Hanging rock  loop at Humpty Doo.

All sessions will start at 8:00am on a Sunday morning and will be two hours in length, except for week six.

Week six will take between two to three hours to complete.

Participants are required to arrive 15 minutes before the start time to ensure that they are ready to start at 8am.

All participants must be DORC/MTBA members to participate.

Basic requirements will be as Follows:

a.         mtb in safe working condition,

b.         safety gear including Helmet, gloves, shoes and eye protection,

c.         spare tube, puncture repair kit, multi/bike tool, pump, and;

d.         minimum of 2 litres of drinking water.
