DORC 6-Hour

Details

Form a team or ride solo.

When:         Sunday 25 August
Register:    5:15am
Race Start: 6:00am

Where:      Charles Darwin National Park
Difficulty:  As fast as you want to go

Course: 10km loop, ride as many (or as few) laps as you want.

Entry Fees

DORC / MTBA / CA members:
$5 online registration only available on race day.

Junior training rides: Gold coin donation

NON-DORC Members: $35 (Covers race entry + day license/MTBA insurance)

Location.

Race HQ (Registration, Timing, Start/Finish, Feed Zone)
Location: large shed below public lookout area (see map inset)
Access: via city view side service road or stairs
Toilets: public lookout area (top car park)

Regulations and Rules

Riders should carry puncture repair kits, water, mobile phone(with first aid numbers) and food with them whilst riding. Helmet must be worn at all times whilst riding. It is also advisable to have gloves and eye protection as well.

A front white light will be required to be carried on the first lap of the day and it must be of an intensity that enables the rider to safely ride at night. A rear red light is to be carried, preferable non – flashing.

At any time a competitors comes across a follower rider needing assistance you shall render any assistance that is required!

Car parking

Car parking is available at the picnic area at Charles Darwin Park near the start/finish line.

Cut Off

Riders will be permitted to go out on a final lap at any time before 12:00.

Schedule

05:15 Registration opens
05:55 Rider briefing
06:00 Race start all riders
09:00 Three hour riders start
12:00 Course closed
12:30 final rider should be finished
12:45 Presentations

Presentations

Presentation will be held 12:45 the prizes will be give out at random to some lucky participants of the race. So if you finish early please hang around, as you may be a winner. The winners will have bragging rights!

BBQ will be running while the race is running and drinks will be available as well.

Course

6 Hour course is a mixture of fire road and single track. Riders should be aware there are some technical sections and should only attempt these sections in accordance with their skill level. Special mention, beware of the loose gravel around the course.

The ride is a six-hour event, but you may finish the prior to the six-hour mark. If you decide to finish prior to the six hours, please tell the timing people that you have finished!

As always with Charles Darwin National Park, bring mozzie repellent  and sunscreen.

    Morning,
    I would like to participate in the race this coming Sunday for a lap or two, and I am having a hard time finding the on line registration page, I have just joined dorc also, member number 99827 if that allows me entry to a secret page.

    Please help
