Berry Springs Market Ride – Sunday 26 July

13/07/2020 by Ian

Col, Karen and Cameron are hosting the annual ride to the Berry Springs Markets, via the back roads, rail trails and fire trails.

Stop at the markets for a big brekkie and a refuel before returning to the start.  This ride covers a total round trip of 60km. (Including 17km dirt each way)

At Berry Springs markets, there’s the usual Coffees, Smoothies, Egg/Bacon Rolls and good market fare.

You’ll need a reasonable level of fitness. There are some stretches of sand, a couple of small rock climbs, a bike carry and the return trip can be hot.

You will also need at least 2 litres of water.

If you like, you can ride there, and have your partner (or a mate), meet you at the markets if you only wish to ride one-way.

Meeting point Puma fuel Palmerston  (Corner Temple Terrace and Chung Wah Terrace)
Date Sunday 26 July
Difficulty Easy
Time 7am

If you’re interested in joining, leave us a note in the comments below, so we know to expect you at the start point.

You will need a mtb in good working order, a helmet, enclosed footwear, gloves and plenty of water. Also bring along things you may need to keep you going. For example spare tube, tools, pump, etc.

You do not need to be a DORC/MTBA member to participate in these rides. However, for insurance purposes, you will need proof of membership with DORC/MTBA or be prepared to sign a waiver.

It is the responsibility of the rider to ensure that they have a current MTBA Licence, take advantage of the MTBA 2 month free trial by the link below, this is to make sure we follow the MTBA club and insurance requirements.

All we ask is for new riders to sign up for a free 2 month free trial MTBA membership. It only takes 30 seconds to sign up.

If you do not take advantage of any of the options above you must understand that you are not covered by the MTBA Insurance policy for public liability or personal accident cover. You engage in this activity at your own risk and you are responsible for any expenses should you be held liable for a negligent act or should you suffer personal injury or property damage.

If you are not a DORC/MTBA member you will be required to sign a waiver before starting the ride.

Please see the ride leader before the start of the ride.

Feel free to message us for more info.
Enjoy the Ride!

      Hi Susanne,

Thanks for the heads-up. We’re running a Berry Springs Market Ride at that time, but we’ll post a notice on our facebook page – and see if anyone is keen, and to notify anyone that may be planning a Pine Forest ride that morning to keep an eye out.

      Cheers
      Ian
