Can you lend some of your time for some track repairs in Charles Darwin? As some of you may be aware DORC in conjunction with IMBA held a class on how to build sustainable trails. There are some particular sections that need some work that will be focused on. Under the guidance of a few who attended the course we will target the section known as the ‘three sisters’.
You will need to bring suitable clothing and shoes. INSECT REPELLANT! Plenty of drinking water. Tools ideal for this day are -Mattock, Pick, Shovel, Fire Rake. DORC does own a few of these items but would be excellent if you could bring one. If anyone has a wheelbarrow that can be used by the club on the day that would be great. 20L Jerry cans full of water would be highly useful as well as watering cans to ‘bed in’ some of the handy work. Anyone that has some large flat rocks that can be donated to help with armouring the trail please get in contact with the club.
Meeting point would be at the main entry gates at 330pm intended time of up to 3 hours, on the 28/9/2013. Esky with drinks supplied for after.
Many hands make light work!
