If you’ve been to the old Pine Forest recently, you will no doubt be as disappointed as we are, that it is being used as a rubbish dump.
We’re going to do something about it. Sunday 1st March is Clean Up Australia Day.
Darwin Off-Road Cyclists will be doing our bit by cleaning up as much as we can, with the people we have.
Date: Sunday 1st March 2020
Time: Start 8 am until finished or we have all had enough
Location: Old Pine Forest, Howard Springs,
We will be cleaning up an assortment of dumped rubbish and moving it to the Howard Springs Waste Depot (5 minutes away). A letter from the Litchfield Council will be given to each car to drop the rubbish off, free of charge, for this date only.
Items to bring:
- Trailer or ute. If you have one *
- Gloves, hat, closed shoes
- Sunscreen and insect repellent
- Rakes, shovels
Garbage bags will be provided.
* If you don’t have a ute or trailer, please come along anyway to help load the rubbish up and drop it off. Many hands make light work. Some of the smaller rubbish is on the actual trails so people can also walk or ride the trails and pick up the small things.
There will be a free bbq and drinks available on the day.
