At a recent meeting the Darwin Off-Road Cyclists voted to endorse the initiative to merge MTBA, BMXA and Cycling Australia into one representative body: AusCycling.
For the merge to proceed, all members will have the opportunity to vote. A 75% majority of all voters is required for the proposal to be approved
As an MTBA Member, you will have received an email notification of the 2019 Annual General Meeting, during which a vote will be taken. You need not attend the meeting and can vote by proxy.
An email has been sent to all members with voting details and instructions.
DORC believes a larger organisation with a combined member base of approx 45,000, AusCycling will have greater strength in numbers to represent grassroots and elite cyclists.
It also provides a combined membership to allow riders to try other disciplines at a much reduced cost. Something riding families will particularly appreciate.
All proxy votes must be received by 11am, 28 November.
