Dear Riders,
We hope that you all are enjoying the diverse events as much as our committee and volunteers are, organising them for everyone’s enjoyment.
We want to inform you that moving forward, we will no longer permit de-restricted Electric Mountain Bikes to participate in any of our DORC-run events.
This decision aligns with our affiliation and compliance with AusCycling, and our insurance requirements which mandate that E-Mountain Bikes adhere to specific standards for the Safety of all participants.
- Maximum engine power of 250 watts
- Motor assistance up to 25 km/h
- Pedal-assist only; a start-up assistance not exceeding 6 km/h without pedalling is permissible
- Minimum wheel size of 26 inches
- Maximum gearing roll-out distance of 9.0 meters
- Only commercially available bikes with mid (crank) motor format are allowed, complying with national safety standards
- During timed events, riders may only use the battery in place on their bike; carrying an additional battery is prohibited
- Range extenders can only be used during social events and must be securely affixed to the bike.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding these compliance regulations, please reach out to either Myself or Robert Hantelmann.
We look forward to seeing all of you out on the trails or at our next event.
Regards,
Damien Loller / DORC President
