I hear you ask “what the hell is it ?” and “have we not been racing endurance events all year ?” Enduro differs from XC cross-country cycling racing (which historically has more emphasis on cardiovascular fitness and less emphasis on technical ability) and pure downhill cycling racing formats, which may contain little to no climbing or cross country skills.
Here is a beginners guide to ENDURO. Please heave a read.
Basically it is a series of individual time trials over various distances and terain (mostly downhill) with neutral rides (liason stages) to each new stage start. All times are recorded for the “segments” or “stages” and added together. The rider with the lowest accumulated time wins the day.
11 stages are planned for this event. Shortest is 300m, longest is 1.7 Km (Stage maps with notes will be available for viewing at you local bike shops and on the day). However, depending on numbers attending, the number of stages. An Esky will be available for drink purchase midway through and at the finish. Spares are strongly recommended, tubes, pump, multi tools etc.
Registration is ONLINE ONLY. Registration for this event is $5.00 for MTBA members. $25.00 (includes day licence) for non-members. Click here for registration. Any questions feel free to contact Kevin on 0410249593
