Junior Ride at the New Pine Forest 2 April 2022

31/03/2022 by Keogh Conboy

New Pine Forest Junior Ride

During the wet season, these social rides will be weather dependant. Keep an eye on our social media pages for updates. If a ride is going to be cancelled notification will go out prior to 4pm on the day of the ride.

The program (to be named shortly) will then be run fortnightly in conjunction with the regular Saturday DORC Social rides. They will be at the same location but a separate ride.
Junior rides will be led by qualified club members, and every safety standard will be adhered to. Ride leaders hold the NT Ochre card and First-Aid qualifications with the majority holding AusCycling coaching qualifications.
The rides will be open to junior riders aged 7 and above and their parents. Riders under 10 years of age will be required to have a responsible parent/adult accompanying them but for older riders’ parents can join in for the ride if they wish.
All participants are required to:
Hold a minimum of an AusCycling 4-week free trial membership.
Have a minimum riding ability to ride on unpaved, dirt trails.
Wear an approved Australian Standards bike helmet, enclosed shoes, and appropriate clothing.
Be riding a safe working bike with working brakes.
The Junior Mountain Bikers’ program aims to be fun, fully inclusive, and safe for everyone involved.
Rides will be conducted together as a group in the spirit of teamwork and group bonding.

This Sat 2nd April 2022 DORC will be hosting a junior ride on the trails at the New Pine Forest, Howard Springs..  The meeting point for this ride will be at the old shed carpark on Howard Springs Rd. Please arrive at 4:45pm for a 5:00pm start.

As part of our COVID-19 plan we are required to collect names and phone numbers of everyone participating in our events. These will be used for contact tracing in the unlikely event that an outbreak does occur.  We also encourage everyone to download and install the COVID Safe app.

Location New Pine Forest
Meeting point Old Shed Carpark
Date Saturday 2nd April ’22
Time 4:45 pm for a 5:00 pm start

The ride will be at an easy pace and will be approx 1.5 hours in duration.  There will be  plenty of breaks to regroup and catch your breath on the way around.

You will need a mtb in good working order, a helmet, enclosed footwear, gloves and a minimum or 2 litres of water will be required. Riders please be self-sufficient with water, spare tube, pump and tyre levers, etc.

Due to changes with AusCycling policy, DORC is no longer able to offer non members the option of signing an insurance waiver to join our weekly social rides. Therefore, you must be a member of AusCycling to participate.  You may like to try the AusCycling four week free trial membership. click here.

Please see the ride leader before the start of the ride.

Feel free to message us for more info.
Enjoy the Ride!
