Introduction to Drops and Jumps
Sunday 19th June 2022
DORC (Darwin Off Road Cyclists) will be conducting an “Introduction to Drops and Jumps” as a half day MTB skills course.
This course is for riders who feel that they are ready and confident to improve their riding skills and to start getting both wheels in the air.
This is also suited to riders who would like to improve on their existing ability.
This course will be run by qualified instructors from PMBIA (Professional Mountain Bike Instructors Association) and AusCycling.
During this course you will learn how to:
Use your body position and balance to get more from your bike.
Learn how to negotiate drops and jumps smoothly and confidently.
We will start with all the basics for getting some air under those tyres and transition from riding small drops and table tops to hitting some bigger ramps and gaps for some air time.
Once you are confidently riding the ramps, we can take your new found skills out onto the trails.
You will need to be over 18 years of age and a member of AusCycling and DORC for insurance purposes. If you are not an AusCycling member you can obtain a 4 week free trial membership here.
This course will cost $50 per person with all proceeds going to DORC as our instructors volunteer their time.
Places are limited to 8 riders.
