Satuday Social Ride 14 Aug ’21 CDNP

11/08/2021 by Geoff Fox

Charles Darwin National Park

Due to changes with AusCycling policy, DORC is no longer able to offer non members the option of signing an insurance waiver to join our weekly social rides. Therefore, you must be a member of AusCycling to participate. DORC apologises for any inconvience this may cause. We are working to resolve this issue.  You may like to try the four week free trial membership. click here.

Every Saturday afternoon DORC host a social mountain bike ride in different locations around the Darwin area. The aim of these rides is to get all level riders together to enjoy our sport and trails in a friendly supportive environment. These rides can help familiarise you with our local trail networks. They are also a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people.

This Saturday 14th August 2021  the social ride will be held at Charles Darwin National Park. For this ride, we will be meeting just inside the main gates of Charles Darwin National Park. Please arrive at 4:45pm for a 5:00pm start.

To warm up for our ride, we will take in a few laps of the pump track then head out onto the trails. The trails that we ride will be dependant on the ability of the riders who attend. We may ride some of the more technical trails in the park. If your ability is not up to riding the features on these trails please walk over them or take the B line, if one is available.

Upon completion of the ride we will head back to the One Mile Brewery for some post ride rehydration.

Charles Darwin NP is well known for it’s bitting insects, please remember to cover up or use an insect repellant. Upon completion of the ride we will head back to the One Mile Brewery for our post ride hydration.

As part of our COVID-19 plan we are required to collect names and phone numbers of everyone participating in our events. These will be used for contact tracing in the unlikely event that an outbreak does occur.
