Social ride 6 June. Cycle Zone 3 Hour Course Preview

04/06/2020 by Ian

Social rides return. Our first ride will be a course preview for next weekend’s race, the Cycle Zone 3 Hour. This is the perfect opportunity to preview the course in a social environment.

This Saturday 6th June ’20 DORC will host the social ride at the New Pine Forest, Howard Springs. The meeting point will be at the site affectionately known as the Old Shed (the shed is not there anymore). Please arrive at 4:45pm for a 5:00pm start.

Please note, COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted sufficiently for social rides to take place, however we are still required to take precautions, including social distancing.  If you’ve been overseas or are feeling unwell, please sit this ride out.

As part of our COVID-19 plan we are required to collect names and phone numbers of everyone participating in our events.  These will be used for contact tracing in the unlikely event that an outbreak does occur.  We also encourage everyone to download and install the COVID Safe app.

Location New Pine Forest
Meeting point Old Shed Entrance
Date Saturday 22nd Feb ’20
Time 4:45 pm for a 5:00 pm start

The ride will be at an easy pace and will be approx 1.5 hours in duration.  There will be  plenty of breaks along the way to regroup.

You will need a mtb in good working order, a helmet, enclosed footwear, gloves and plenty of water. Riders please be self-sufficient with water, spare tube, pump and tyre levers, etc.

You do not need to be a DORC/MTBA member to participate in these rides. However, for insurance purposes, you will need proof of membership with DORC/MTBA or be prepared to sign a waiver.

It is the responsibility of the rider to ensure that they have a current MTBA Licence, take advantage of the MTBA 8 week free trial by the link below, this is to make sure we follow the MTBA club and insurance requirements.

All we ask is for new riders to sign up for a free 2 month free trial MTBA membership. It only takes 30 seconds to sign up.

If you do not take advantage of any of the options above you must understand that you are not covered by the MTBA Insurance policy for public liability or personal accident cover. You engage in this activity at your own risk and you are responsible for any expenses should you be held liable for a negligent act or should you suffer personal injury or property damage.

If you are not a DORC/MTBA member you will be required to sign a waiver before starting the ride.

Please see the ride leader before the start of the ride.

Feel free to message us for more info.
Enjoy the Ride!

Hello, I’d like to attend the ride this afternoon but the link to the old shed isn’t working. Can you send a pin?
