New Pine Forest Ride
Every Saturday afternoon DORC host a social mountain bike ride in different locations around the Darwin area. The aim of these rides is to get all level riders together to enjoy our sport and trails in a friendly supportive environment. These rides can help familiarise you with our local trail networks. They are also a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people.
Happy new year and welcome to our social rides for 2024. This Sat 6th Jan ’24 DORC will be hosting a ride on the trails at the New Pine Forest trails, Howard Springs. This ride will be a fun ride on most the trails in the area and is a great way to see the trails if you have never ridden the pine forest before. The meeting point for this ride will be at the Stow rd trail entrance on the corner of Stow rd and Howard Springs rd. Please arrive at 4:45pm for a 5:00pm start
It’s that time of year again and there could be storms on the day of the ride and we may need to cancel the ride. If there is storms around on the day please check this post for cancellation. A decision will be made no later than 3pm on the day.
If you would like to catch up after the ride, refreshments in the carpark will be BYO.
It is the responsibility of the rider to ensure that they have a current Auscycling Licence, this is to make sure we follow the Auscycling club and insurance requirements. If you are a non member and would like to join us just follow the link and take advantage of the AusCycling four week free trial membership ( click here. ) or you can sign a recreational day waiver. *ATTENTION ALL: We now can offer all non members the chance to sign a Recreational Day Waiver to join us on our social rides. The ride will be at an easy pace and will be approx 1.5 hours in duration. There will be plenty of breaks to regroup and catch your breath on the way around.
You will need a mtb in good working order, an Australian standards helmet, enclosed footwear, gloves and a minimum or 2 litres of water will be required. Riders please be self-sufficient with water, spare tube, pump and tyre levers, etc.
