IMBA Australia Trail Maintenance Workshop
20, 21 July
DORC are pleased to announce that the club has been successful in obtaining funding through the NT Government Sports and Recreation, Grass Roots Grant scheme to fund a Trail Maintenance Workshop to be run by Nicolas Bowman from IMBA Australia.
The workshop will be run over the weekend of the 20 – 21 Jul and will provide training for volunteers and staff in sustainable trail design, construction and maintenance techniques to help develop a solid set of skills amongst our trail crew with the view to develop skills that allow them to design and build sustainable trails in your region and establish a foundation for effective trail stewardship.
The workshop will run over two days and will encompass:
- A theory component,
- Introduction to tool care and OH&S on the trails,
- Hands on Trail Design and Construction Techniques,
- IMBA Australia Trail Design Services and Coaching, and
- Ongoing support and guidance from IMBA Australia.
There are 25 positions available on the workshop that have been funded through the Grant scheme.
So if you are sick of riding poorly maintained tracks and are interested in putting something back into the sport you enjoy and the club that supports you, then nominate below
We are looking for (and will give preference to) people who will return the favour, by leading maintenance groups at trail maintenance days, and put back into the trails we all ride.
We’re still confirming the location for the classroom component, and the exact details of session times, check back here for updates.
